While most people have great ideas that spark the creation of their dreams, often times knowing the ins and outs of how a business works is not a strength – that’s where Ezer Unfolding steps in. We listen to and coach business owners on how to actualize their dream, getting them unstuck and developing what is inside of them, recognizing strengths and handling things that may hinder success.

Coaching Process

A typical engagement includes meeting with the client weekly or bi-weekly for six months, with the option to extend it further if establishing new goals. Meetings are usually via a video call. The process varies according to individual client need, but usually follows the outline below:

  • Initial consulting call – Akpene uses this time to understand the client objective and come to an agreement for the the coaching engagement.
  • Comprehensive Assessment – Using intake calls, standardized and validated assessments, we look at working style, behavioral traits, professional interests and direction. We review the assessments and establish next steps.
  • Formal Coaching Plan Developed – in partnership with client using all resources gathered.
  • Execution of plan and Tracking of Progress for Accountability – Starting each session reviewing progress from the action steps of the previous sessions, working through the obstacles, making adjustments as necessary, we track towards meeting performance, professional, and organizational goals.

Coaching Guidelines

Details for a successful coaching journey.

Welcome to the magic of coaching! I look forward to working with you. Please read through this entire document and let me know if you have questions.

The Co-Creative Relationship

The relationship between a coach and client is Co-Creative, meaning that we are equals. I am not a therapist, counselor or consultant. I am a trained coach using honed communication skills to support you as a thinking partner. Together we create more power for you to effect meaningful change and take dynamic actions towards your goals.

Your Role

  • Please take time before each session to determine what you’d like to take away from the session.
  • Treat our coaching as the valuable investment that it is. Protect your investment by showing up to every session on time and setting an intention to be centered, ready to engage and take meaningful actions.
  • Give me feedback in the moment about your coaching experience.

My Role

  • I will listen closely to you, respond to what I hear and ask questions. If I hear something in your voice or language that sparks an intuitive thought, I’m likely to ask you about it. Often, it is the small moments that bring about big shifts. If I’m not on target, just tell me. I’m not attached to being right.
  • At the end of the session, if you do not set specific actions you are ready to take, I may make a coach request. I ask clients to stretch themselves, deepen the work done in the sessions by writing, taking some action, resolving relationships or things that feel incomplete. You are always free to negotiate, accept or decline.

Extra Time

Between sessions, if you have questions, a brief update, or want to bounce some ideas around, please contact me by email or text. If it seems best, I may suggest a brief 10-15 minute phone call (no extra charge) or to add that as an agenda item for our next session.
